    Hey Katy,

I see from your influence map you're going for a kind of Americana-style environment, that exploits the wide-open space of the American highway. Very interesting. There have been a number of movies that exploit the isolation of the American motorist - and his vulnerability; check out the following:

You maybe going for a UK petrol station - just make sure, as you're putting together your visual ref, that you've made a decision. Likewise, it may further help you if you pick a particular era; for instance, a 1950's petrol station would offer up a different aesthetic - indeed, doing so might add to the strangeness or sense of something being not quite right.

You might want to consider too using an unusual or unexpected vehicle on the forecourt to add an additional dimension to your scene; for instance:

Get some resolved concept art on here as soon as possible - and remember too that you've got to combine your digital set with a matte painting, so consider that when you're thinking about your composition.
