I think this character is coming on nicely. I think his body language will help define his character more (tomorrows lesson). Regarding costume, props etc though, at the moment I am getting a comical friendly character, but I cant tell that he is the navigator, or even that he is also not that good at it. So maybe you need to introduce an element of incompetence to him to him, such as clutching muddled star charts, or seeming a little more unhinged.
